THANK YOU! THANK YOU! For another successful Path to Bethlehem
|
As anticipated, this year's Path was the BEST EVER! Not to say that the previous ones weren't also great. But we made some improvements to the sets, the sound, and the experience in Friendship Hall, and they really enhanced the program. THANK YOU ESPECIALLY to everyone who PARTICIPATED -- in the preparation, the actual production, and the clean up. All together we had 75 people in the "cast and crew" - our biggest volunteer production of the year. And we served at least 180 guests. Testimonials: It was heartwarming to talk with people after they walked the path. Everyone I talked with enjoyed it. One gentleman, George, who attended for the first time remarked at "how wonderful and unique it is. This should be on TV!"
Others talked about coming every year for many years - "because it's such a great start for our Christmas season." The young lady who played Mary in scene one came with her
family for the first time last year. She was thrilled to be invited to help out this year. Another guest, on arriving at scene one, was happily surprised that the angel Gabriel was being played by a fellow thespian. Small world!
One of the wonderful and amazing things about this activity is how many people from the community participate in some way. Many are not members of our congregation, but they love to be involved because the event carries meaning for them. And it really was as delightful and magical as ever!
Thank you to everyone who helped make this such a great event! The Lord did indeed bless our efforts, and we served our community in a very meaningful
and unique way. My heart is full. With appreciation, love, and
respect, Nathan

A Time for Peace, not Fear - Nathan Gladish
"Do not be afraid." Strong words from angels, yet often hard to follow. This is a message to Mary, to Joseph, to the shepherds and to a variety of other Biblical
characters. In some ways, in our frail world, there seem to be a lot of reasons to be afraid. But the angels focus on a promise of peace and good will.

New Church Foundations CLASS REUNION
|
Planning for an evening in January Recently we concluded another session of this introductory course. Among those who attended, we had 5 people who are relatively new to the church, 2 people born and raised in the church, and 1 who was
baptized as an adult a number of years ago.
I love this course. It's been delightful to connect with each other in this group over the weeks we have been meeting. Such a great opportunity to explore basic questions together.
We decided to have a
get-together in January and to invite anyone else who has taken the course in the past five years. We're thinking of enjoying a pot luck supper and taking up a new topic for discussion that night, perhaps watching a brief video, too.
Watch for the invitation, date, and time. Nathan
