This Sunday: What does it mean that God is gracious? This Sunday we'll focus on the topic of God’s grace
– what it is, what it isn’t, and what is our personal part in receiving and responding to the Lord’s grace.
LOTS OF OTHER THINGS GOING ON: Nature Walk with Frank Rose Tomorrow, Saturday, March 18 - meet at the church parking lot at 8:45 am or talk with Frank about meeting at the trail head.
A Roof on the Gazebo! With gratitude for funding from the Glencairn Foundation, we now have a handsome roof on the gazebo, to provide a shady spot for various gatherings. It is not quite complete, but it will be finished and painted this next week in time for our 30th Anniversary Celebration. Progress in the Courtyard Garden (between the two buildings)! The gardening transformation continues with new irrigation and ground cover installed in the Courtyard Garden today! Thanks to Matt and Rod from Arizona Zenscapes!

Readings for Reflection for this Sunday, March 19
|
Moses Asks the LORD about Grace Exodus 33:12-19 (NKJV) Moses said to the LORD, “See, You say to me, ‘Bring up this people.’
But You have not let me know whom You will send with me. Yet You have said, ‘I know you by name, and you have also found grace in My sight.’ Now therefore, I pray, if I have found grace in Your sight, show me now Your way, that I may know You and that I may find grace in Your sight. And consider that this nation is Your people.” And He said, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” Then he said to Him, “If Your Presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here.
For how then will it be known that Your people and I have found grace in Your sight, except You go with us? So we shall be separate, Your people and I, from all the people who are upon the face of the earth.” So the LORD said to Moses, “I will also do this thing that you have spoken; for you have found grace in My sight, and I know you by name.” And he said, “Please, show me Your glory.” Then He said, “I will make all My goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD
before you. I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.”
What is Grace? Apocalypse Explained 22 - Swedenborg
“Grace to you and peace,”
signifies the delight of truth and good. There is no other Divine grace with a person, spirit, or angel, than to be affected or delighted by truth because it is truth, since in that delight there is heaven and blessedness for them. This in particular is what is meant by “grace” in the Word, as in John: “And the Word became flesh, and dwelt in us, and we beheld His glory, a glory as of the only-begotten from
the Father, full of grace and truth, of His fullness we all received, and grace for grace. For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ” (John 1:14, 16-17). It is said “grace and truth,” because grace is the affection and the delight of truth. And in Luke, after the Lord had explained in the synagogue the prophesy of Isaiah respecting Himself, that is, the Divine truth, it is
said: “All marveled at the words of grace proceeding out of His mouth” (Luke 4:22). The Divine truths that the Lord spoke are called “words of grace proceeding out of His mouth,” because they are acceptable, grateful, and delightful.
In general, Divine grace is all that is given from the Lord; in particular, Divine grace is everything related to faith and love. To be gifted with faith and love is to be gifted with heaven, thus with eternal blessedness. “Blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it."
