Memorial Service for Fay McCoy - this Sunday at 9 am

Image
Earlier this month, a loving, energetic, and devoted member of Sunrise Chapel who has been living in Seattle, WA for quite a few years suffered a massive stroke and was hospitalized. On Thursday afternoon, March 9, she left this world for the other life.

An informal memorial service and celebration of life will be held this Sunday March 26 at 9 am at Sunrise Chapel facilitated by Glenn Alden, Pastor Emeritus. It will be outdoors in the Celebration Garden (also known as the Wedding Garden) - at Sunrise Chapel. You are welcome to celebrate this wonderful lady and share the joy of hearing each others' memories. Feel free to invite others!

Faye was dedicated to Sunrise Chapel while she lived in Tucson. She was active in the Women's Guild, very helpful with the patio sales, helped with refreshments regularly and was active and supportive of church growth. She took special interest in the development and care of The Path of Faith. She and others labored with love in the gardens to create a beautiful space on the property for meditation and inspiration. She also loved to talk about the Lord's Word and about all aspects of the church on earth. When she moved to Seattle, she became a very strong member of our sister congregation, The Light for Life Church. The former pastor, Ethan McCardell says this is one of Faye's favorite quotations from the Writings of Swedenborg:

Let the person who wishes to be eternally happy know and believe that they will live after death. Let them think of this and keep it in mind, for it is the truth. Let them also know and believe that the Word is the only doctrine which teaches how a person must live in the world in order to be happy to eternity.  (Secrets of Heaven 8939)

After the gathering, refreshments will be served in Friendship Hall prior to the 11 o'clock special service of re-dedication to spiritual community - in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the original dedication of Sunrise Chapel.

With love and respect,
Nathan
