This Saturday is our beloved Path to Bethlehem

Getting ready for the Path!! Thank you to everyone who has helped so far! Sets and lights have been going up, cookies have been baked, Christmas decorations are on display, and we have a strong set of volunteers lined up for this big event! A
wonderful way to welcome the Christmas season for the community of Tucson. I'm really looking forward to it!
PLEASE DRESS WARMLY, AND NOTE THE SCHEDULE BELOW
Sunday's
topic Last Sunday, I talked with the children about the upcoming Path to Bethlehem and invited them to think about the characters in each scene, based on the five Biblical stories from the Gospels of Matthew and Luke. It was fun to see how much they knew, and how excited they are. For the adult portion of the service I talked about "the beautiful feet of the Lord" - based on this
quotation from Isaiah... How beautiful upon the mountains Are the feet of him who brings good news, Who proclaims peace, Who brings glad tidings of good things, Who proclaims salvation, Who says to Zion,
“Your God reigns!” Isaiah 52:7 This Sunday I'll continue this theme: BEAUTIFUL FEET - PART 2 with an emphasis on the symbolism of feet in our everyday spiritual
lives. The Lord has a lot to say about this important part of our body and our lives.
Janna Excell I sent around a separate email notice, but in case you didn't get it, I'm trying to get the word out about our dear friend
Janna Excell, a well-known Bereavement and Crisis Counselor who has been associated with Sunrise Chapel for over 30 years. She died last Monday, November 27, surrounded by family and friends, after valiant efforts to recover since late September from a serious bout of pneumonia and other complications. A service will be held on Saturday January 13 at Sunrise Chapel. For more information, contact me. I will be happy to forward you the other email or talk with you personally about it. More details
about the service to come as they get firmed up.

Christmas Giving Opportunities
|
The Christmas Season is here! We love to make our facility look festive as we welcome visitors, family, and friends from near and far throughout the season. We also have a tradition of sponsoring some charitable giving. Please consider helping in any of these
ways: 1. Sponsor (or donate towards) a sheep for the Path to Bethlehem (We plan to have 4 sheep (@ $60 each) 2. Bake or buy cookies for the Path to Bethlehem 3. Contribute towards and/or dedicate a poinsettia (for chancel decorations) to a loved one - $12 for a small, $15 for a large (you may take yours home after the
holiday) 4. Contribute to live Christmas trees to adorn our chancel - We would like to have several trees at about $75 each 5. Angel Tree - Pick a tag from the angel tree and buy an item for a child in need. The Angel Tree will be set up by Dec. 1st 6. Monetary Collection for a local family’s needs 7. Food for the Community Food Bank (Collection baskets in Chapel lobby)

Last Sunday's Semi-Annual Meeting
|
|
Thank you to everyone who attended and participated in our Fall-season congregational meeting. We had a quorum and fulfilled the obligation of the by-laws, which included approving the minutes of the previous meeting, a pastor's report, a treasurer's report, and discussion. I try to make these meetings educational and motivational and keep within a reasonable
timeframe.
It is a privilege to serve Sunrise Chapel, and I am very grateful for everyone's dedication, support, and involvement.
With love and respect,
Nathan

RESUMING OUR MEETINGS THIS MONDAY, December 4 at 2 pm
We are going to resume meeting this Monday. If you are interested in checking it out, just drop in. If the schedule doesn't work for you, and you would like to
consider doing this at a different time of day or night, let me know.
Each Monday that we meet, we view parts of an episode from Curtis Childs’ You Tube Channel called “offTheLeftEye”. We hit pause many times
throughout each meeting to share questions and ideas with each other. It's really educational and also just fun. Each video is fast-paced, information-packed, down-to-earth at the same time as being uplifting and “spiritual.” He has so many thought-provoking shows on different topics and of various lengths of time. Currently we are focusing on a few of these episodes.
Join the study and fun! ALMOST weekly meetings on Monday at 2 pm at Sunrise Chapel. ~Nathan

A Prophecy of God's PresenceIsaiah 60:13 I will make the place of My feet glorious.
Seeing Jesus' Feet (after His Resurrection) Luke 24:36-39 While the disciples were still talking about (the empty tomb), Jesus himself stood among them and said to them, “Peace be with you.” They were startled and frightened, thinking they saw a ghost. He said to them, “Why are you troubled, and why do doubts rise in your minds?
Look at my hands and my feet. It is I myself! Touch me and see.
Feet Symbolize the "Lowest" Expression of God's Word Secrets of Heaven 9206 In the Word, references to 'feet' mean natural things, and the soles under the feet are the lowest things in the natural order. In fact, 'under the feet' symbolizes the lowest level of meaning in God's
Word. The lowest level of God's truth or the Word is the Word as it exists in the sense of the letter, that is, the natural sense since it is intended for people on the natural plane. The fact that the sense of the letter contains an internal sense, which in comparison is spiritual and heavenly, is clear from all those things which have been shown up to now regarding the Word. But the more worldly- and bodily-minded anyone is, the less we understand this, because we do not allow ourselves to be
raised into spiritual light and from there to see what the Word is like. In the letter the Word is natural and in the internal sense it is spiritual. It is possible to see from the spiritual world or the light of heaven what lower things down to the lowest are like, but not from below upwards. Since the Word in the letter is natural, and natural things are meant by 'the feet', the lowest level of the Word, like the lowest of the Church, is called 'the place of Jehovah's
feet.'
