This Sunday we celebrate Palm Sunday

Celebrating the spiritual leadership of Jesus Christ Palm Sunday is a special opportunity to explore our relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. The Biblical
accounts describe Jesus entering Jerusalem just a week before being crucified. Palm Sunday is the traditional day to mark his "announcement" of his spiritual leadership. It was not a takeover of worldly power; rather a more cosmic triumph of good over evil and truth over falsity. Jesus led the way to everyone being spiritually safe from hell's harm if we follow in his footsteps.
Good Friday Vesper Service and Holy Supper Next Friday, March 30, at 7 pm Come to the Chapel for a service of readings and meditation time about the
final days of the Lord's earthly ministry. The service will include a special offering of the Holy Supper as a way of re-presenting the Lord's last supper with the disciples.
1. Early "sunrise" service, April 1, at 7 am - outdoors This service is an informal, outdoor service to celebrate the wonder the disciples expressed on hearing the news of the Lord's resurrection. 2. Easter Festival Family Service + Egg Hunt, April 1, at 11 am + Easter luncheon afterwards in Friendship Hall. This service will feature one talk for adults and children, followed immediately by an egg hunt outside, then a luncheon. You are invited to bring an item for the potluck. The main dish will be provided by the ladies of the Women's Guild.
We welcome you to dedicate lilies to loved ones In addition to our traditional palm fronds on Palm Sunday, Elise will be purchasing lilies to decorate the chancel on Easter. For any contribution toward the cost of the lilies, you may also share a dedication to any loved ones. We will feature
your dedication in the Easter Sunday Bulletin. Please let Elise or me know the names of whoever you want to honor and the specific wording.
Thinking of you all with love and respect, Nathan

A Prophecy of Palm Sunday
Psalm 118:22-29 The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone; the Lord has done this, and it is marvelous
in our eyes. The Lord has done it this very day; let us rejoice today and be glad. Lord, save us! Lord, grant us success! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. From the house of the Lord we bless you. The Lord is God, and he has made his light shine on us. With boughs in hand, join in the festal procession up to the horns of the altar. You are my God, and I will praise you;
you are my God, and I will exalt you. Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.
Jesus Declares His Leadership Mark 11:1-11 As they
approached Jerusalem and came to Bethphage and Bethany at the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two of his disciples, saying to them, “Go to the village ahead of you, and just as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there, which no one has ever ridden. Untie it and bring it here. If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you doing this?’ say, ‘The Lord needs it and will send it back here shortly.’” They went and found a colt outside in the street, tied at a doorway. As they untied it, some people standing
there asked, “What are you doing, untying that colt?” They answered as Jesus had told them to, and the people let them go. When they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their cloaks over it, he sat on it. Many people spread their cloaks on the road, while others spread branches they had cut in the fields. Those who went ahead and those who followed shouted, “Hosanna!” “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Blessed is the coming kingdom of our father David!” “Hosanna in
the highest heaven!” Jesus entered Jerusalem and went into the temple courts. He looked around at everything, but since it was already late, he went out to Bethany with the Twelve. Crying out 'Hosanna!' Secrets of Heaven 5236 - Swedenborg
In Matthew, when the children in the temple cried out, 'Hosanna to the son of David,' the chief priests and scribes were indignant. Therefore Jesus said to them, 'Have you not read that out of the mouth of young children and sucklings You have perfected praise?' Matt. 21:15, 16; Ps. 8:2. The children's cry 'Hosanna to the son of David' was voiced so as to represent the truth that innocence alone acknowledges and
accepts the Lord, that is, that those who have innocence within them do so. The words 'out of the mouth of young children and sucklings You have perfected praise' mean that there is no other path than innocence along which praise can go to the Lord. Along this path alone can any communication be established, any influx take place, or consequently any approach be made. This is why the Lord says, in the same gospel, 'Unless you are converted and become as children you will not enter the kingdom of
heaven.' Matt. 18:3.
"Blessed is everyone who hears the Word of God and keeps it."
