Reading a book about the life of Jesus recently, I was struck by the author's generalization of two periods in the story - the Pre-Easter Jesus and the Post-Easter Jesus. Although we have the advantage of knowing "the end of
the story," it's fascinating to read the Gospel accounts as one of His contemporaries would have experienced them in real time. What a true surprise it was when people met the Post-Easter Jesus! Their faith and their lives really changed forever.
This week's account of such a discovery is among my favorite stories in the Bible. I hope you can come and enjoy its heartwarming message, too!
THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!!
What a delightful Easter weekend we had here at Sunrise Chapel! Friday night was a beautiful and unique Good Friday service with everyone sitting around one long table to reenact the Last Supper. Sunday early morning at 7 am, we enjoyed a lovely "sunrising" service in the Chapel Celebration Garden. The 11 o'clock Easter family service was humming with 104 people involved, including a lot of children, who loved the egg hunt after the service (Thanks to Christine Morey
and all her helpers!). The music was upbeat, including an exquisite solo by guest musician Liz Rose Zeno. Even the greeter team went out of their way to make everyone feel warmly welcomed - thanks to Darleen, DeWayne and their grandchildren! Easter photos by Christine Morey was another special treat! Plus we served about 80 folks of all ages for our annual Easter Sunday potluck luncheon extravaganza (it was hard to count - everyone was
moving!)
THANK YOU ALL FOR PARTICIPATING, VOLUNTEERING, SUPPORTING, AND BUILDING COMMUNITY!
Thinking of you all
with love and respect,
Nathan
