Here's what happened at church -> Sunday, July 12
Saturday night we had our first monsoon, including plenty of lightning drama which led to a momentary power outage at the church. Well, that led to internet issues on Sunday during the livestream, with lots of skipping, buffering, and lost content.
So I did a retake in the afternoon. In case you want to watch it, here is the link.
Sorry about the struggle with technology. It wasn't anything you or I could do anything about at the time. Boy do I wish we could just be together in person! But we are all learning and doing the best we can.
This was the first time I've done a church service all about breathing, and I got a lot of enjoyment out of preparing for it. I invite you to participate in the guided meditation featuring breathing. I hope it is useful. And at the end, you will also hear a beautiful song about breathing called "Take Your Spirit In" composed by Jeremy Rose and recorded by the Virginia Street Swedenborgian
Church in Minnesota.
Next Sunday, July 19 - Holy Supper - mainly virtual with an in-person option
That's right. I will host a virtual sacrament of the Holy Supper toward the end of the service next Sunday. I invite you to gather your own supplies at home and join me virtually. I encourage you to plan ahead, and I will remind you in my Friday email. The quality of the outward elements is not as important as the inward elements of your heart and mind - humility and curiosity.
Also, if you want to take the Holy Supper in the Chapel in person, there will be a small number of stations placed more than 6 feet apart with individual servings on each table. We will observe the guidelines for in-person gathering, removing face coverings only for the time that we are taking the elements of the Holy Supper. Also I will not do any "hands-on" blessings.
