Practice Being Resilient
Resilience - psychologically - is defined as the ability to cope with stress and adversity. Sometimes being resilient is compared to the response of a guitar string being played under just the right stress. Resilience allows it to "sing." The bow of an archer also requires resilience to launch an arrow.
Adversity calls for resilience, too. This imperfect world we live in challenges us with all sorts of troubles. Resilience can lead us to make improvements.
How does this apply to our spiritual lives? Does being "spiritual" mean not having stress or adversity? I don't think so! Our spiritual lives are just as full of drama and challenges as our psychological lives. And it's very important to develop a heavenly resilience in the face of hellish influences. Let's explore this together.
One of the skills of spiritual resilience is flexibility, which is mentioned in this quotation from Swedenborg:
"People motivated by good are so to speak flexible. Truth without good is utterly rigid; but when it regards good as the end in view, that rigidity starts to change into flexibility." Secrets of Heaven 7068
CHURCH IS OPEN, with appropriate precautions
I'm very happy to see more folks feeling comfortable to come back to in-person attendance. We had 22 people in the Chapel three Sundays in a row. It's so good to see you!
It's up to you, of course, to decide when the time is right. I certainly welcome you if you feel comfortable being in person. In the meantime, please continue to participate and "stay tuned" online.
This Sunday - LUNCHEON! after church - see below for details
Thank you for your care and concern, and I hope to see you soon!
With love and respect and anticipation,
Nathan

A LUNCHEON is being prepared by Mike, Bill Smith, and Valery Thim. Everyone welcome!
Afterwards, there will be a Board meeting. There are some important things happening behind the scenes that need Board discussion in order to move forward.
We will also discuss the date and time of our Annual Meeting, generally held in May or June.

World Labyrinth Day - First Saturday of May

Walk our Labyrinth on May 1 at 1 pm
Every “first Saturday of May” is World Labyrinth Day. On this day, people gather at labyrinths all over the world to “Walk as One At 1” in their time zones, in unity, and for peace and healing. We could use all the healing we can get this year, and in the years ahead.
We will have a socially distanced walk on May 1st, 2021, "Walking as One at 1." Please join us at 12:45 for a prayer for peace and healing for the world, a bottle of water, and good fellowship.
Our 5-circuit labyrinth is located outside on the northeast part of our church property, with shade and mountain views.
Sponsored by Sunrise Chapel, 8421 E Wrightstown Road, Tucson, 85715
